Gideon Math & Reading
The Program
We begin by testing your child to determine exactly where they need help. From there, we provide you and your child with all of the math and reading work books you'll need at no extra cost. Our standard program includes 2* instructional sessions per week and Gideon curriculum that your child will take home and complete on a daily basis.
You will quickly see your child's math and reading skills improve as they develop a newfound joy of learning. If they get stuck on a difficult concept, we will not move forward until they've mastered it and feel confident in their abilities. This is the defining difference between Gideon and the fast pace of our public school systems and even other supplemental education programs.
*2 instructional sessions per week is the standard for in-person classes, which we don't currently offer. For more information on our current online classes, please see our Pricing Tab or the info. at the bottom of this page.
Math
The regimen for our math program includes:

4 pages of computation per day

1 page of math word problems per day

Oral facts practice

Weekly assessment
The beauty of the Gideon program is that it can be tailored to fit your child's exact needs, meaning we can assign more or less work depending upon how quickly your child is progressing through the program.
Reading
Our reading program offers a similar daily regimen:

4 pages of comprehension (we have children read aloud, a skill not often practiced in schools)

2 pages of grammar exercises

Vocabulary and/or handwriting practice
As previously mentioned, the amount of daily work can be adjusted to fit each learner's precise needs.
Current Class Format
Young Learners

Single Subject (Math OR Reading): One ~30 minute private class/week

Double Subject (Math AND Reading): Two ~20 minute private classes/week OR One ~40 private class/week
Independent Learners

Single Subject (Math OR Reading): One ~30 minute private class/week*

Double Subject (Math AND Reading): Two ~30 minute private classes/week OR One ~45 minute private class/week
*Single Subject Students considered advanced may be eligible for One ~45 minute class/week
Due to the current pandemic, we made the decision to change our in-house, group classes to online, private lessons at no additional cost to our families. Therefore, we have little to no availability for makeups for missed classes. Please use discretion when scheduling events that could conflict with your child's chosen Gideon session.

Location
While we are in the midst of the current pandemic, all classes will be held via online platforms. Inquire within to find out more. We have no plans to re-open onsite as of now. When we do re-open, classes will be held at 6826 Hyacinth Lane, Dallas, TX 75252
White house with a semicircular drive. Feel free to wait in the driveway while your child is inside.
First time visitors: follow the walkway on the right hand side of the driveway, as you are facing our location. The straight driveway to the right of our location does not belong to us, so we ask that clients not park there or block its entrance while waiting. Thank you!
Private Tutoring
We offer private tutoring in several branches of mathematics including Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry. We also offer private tutoring in Spanish. Pricing varies by grade level and clients must pay for one month's sessions in advance. Once a regular tutorial time is chosen, we require 24 hours notice in advance of absence, otherwise the session is forfeit, and the payment is non-refundable. We will do our best to schedule a makeup tutorial session for your student in the case of an appropriate cancellation, but due to limited availability, we ask for minimal schedule-change requests.
